INSPIRATION

ICON Art

What really inspires me the most are movements like Surrealism, Expressionism and what is usually related to the word “nonsense”, with a tendency to use creativity, allowing the imagination and the subjectivity to influence.

The unknown, the night, the details, the freedom of having no limitations towards any idea, the use of black most of the time, in contrast with colours, or white. The beauty of nature within all beings.

My creative vision is deeply rooted in psychological horror and immersive storytelling; a fascination that has been a defining part of my identity since childhood. The visionary work of Masahiro Ito and Keiichiro Toyama sparked my early fascination with atmospheric design, and Silent Hill holds a special place in my heart as the cornerstone of my artistic formation. It defined the profound synergy between environment and psyche that I strive to capture in my own work.

Over time, this foundational influence has evolved, enriched by the technical mastery and world-building found in titles such as Resident Evil, The Evil Within, and Outlast. These works represent the evolution of the genre, serving as essential references that continue to inspire my approach to design, texturing, and illustration. This personal trajectory allows me to honour the masters who shaped my vocation while integrating the innovative narrative and technical rigors of the modern gaming industry.

People who inspire me the most are the ones who merge the previously described with design, art, film, music, writing and videogames.

Some of these people are filmmakers such as David Fincher, Guillermo del Toro, Peter Jackson, Christopher Nolan, Tim Burton, Steven Spielberg, James Cameron, Stanley Kubrick, & Quentin Tarantino. Writers like Lewis Carroll, Stephen King, John Verdon, Edgar Allan Poe, Jules Verne and Agatha Christie. Video game designers and concept artists such as Masahiro Ito and Keiichiro Toyama (Silent Hill), Shinji Mikami (Resident Evil/The Evil Within), American McGee (Alice: Madness Returns), and the visionary development teams behind Outlast and the Resident Evil franchise, whose environmental storytelling and creature design have been pivotal in shaping my artistic approach. Artists such as Anton Semenov, Dan Quintana, Andrés Rios, Samuel Araya, Blial Cabal, Christophe Young, Scott Radke, Marco Grassi, Eddie Mendoza, Stephan Koidl, Mike Franchina, Leandro Szulman, Matthew Mongo and Nico DiMattia. Music genres such as Rock, Metal, Blues, OST, Neoceltic Pagan/Nordic folk, and Jazz. Composers like Hans Zimmer, Akira Yamaoka, Howard Shore, James Horner, Harry Han, Tyler Bates, Tom Holkenborg, Danny Elfman, John Williams, Allan Silvestri, Graeme Revell & Paul Haslinger.

ICON-Inspiration
If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?
